Wow, so it's almost done, campaigning is nearly over, and by this time tomorrow it'll all be done and dusted. If you haven't voted yet, please do, it still matters!
Whatever happens, this week has been incredible. It's been such a rollercoaster of emotions, some real highs and lows, but it could be all worth it in the end! I've met so many amazing people, found out a whole lot more about the university, and hopefully something about myself too!
By twelve today, we'll have done what we can, and I hope to sit back and enjoy a few cheeky beers with my fellow candidates before the nerves kick in!
In 48 hours time it'll all become clear, we'll know who the new sabbatical team are and the students will have spoken! Whoever is elected will have got there through a week and a half of hard work, little sleep and lots of talking, but it'll be well worth it in the end.
There was a real buzz on campus yesterday, as if everyone felt them had a purpose for being there now, with the votes starting to fly in and the tension rising! Hopefully today will be the same, as everyone makes one last effort to sneak a few extra votes that could make all the difference.
If you haven't voted yet (like me, ooops!) then make sure that you do!
This week I've visited NOC, Boldrewood, Avenue, Winchester, been in lectures, got to know people's problems, and it's been really intense! I've thorougly enjoyed it though, and hope that I've proved my dedication and work-ethic that make me the man for the job!
It's been hectic but it's been great doing new things and meeting new people. Voting has been open for ten hours already, I wonder how it's all shaping up! One last push for the next day and a bit, off to Jesters tonight to catch those of you who haven't voted yet.
I'm going to flash you that smile and hope to win your vote!
All those hard days on the concourse, long nights up relentlessly campaigning, this is what it all comes down to. Please log on today, tomorrow or Wednesday and vote, it's your Union and your say in how it is run.
Please check out the manifestos and vote for people who you think will do the job, will represent you the best and who have clear, achieveable policies.
I spent yesterday having a nice day off from campaigning, got up to Wide Lane to play some sport and then hit Quiz and Curry at the Bridge with my campaign team. Then headed home for a full nights sleep.
One last push for votes, I'll be up on campus today if anyone wants to come find me and ask questions, or send them in, I'm happy to respond. Oh, and please vote (did I say that already?!).
Enjoyed a lie-in this morning, probably not the longest one ever but I feel it was well deserved!
I'm looking forward to voting opening now, one final push of campaigning and then it's all over. I'm really struggling to decide who to vote for - I know it's only one vote but it makes a difference! I've made such good friends with so many candidates this week that it's going to be so hard to choose between everyone.
What I'll probably do over the next few days is sit down, read the manifestos and make a decision based on that. Choosing a sabbatical team is such an important decision - these are the people that run your Students Union, and I hope that people take the time to read through everything and make a decision on who they think will best represent them.
I don't know what to expect from the next few days. I've done my campaigning, got out and about and met people, and also put together a manifesto that I think is strong and shows what I could do.
Every single person running this year is determined to do the best for their Students Union - please get online from 9am tomorrow and cast your vote, it's so important!
So it's Saturday, the candidates and campaign teams can finally get a bit of extra well-earned sleep, and the University might become a little quieter! No rest for the wicked though, and I'm up already unfortunately. I've got work to do at somepoint, but firstly I'm off to Wide Lane, we've got our first pre-season game and that Centre Field slot won't fill itself!
Chatting to Chrissie yesterday, we really noticed how emotional this whole campaigning and elections business really is. Lack of sleep, the stress and tension of it all and how much these sabbatical positions all mean to us are really evident. All the candidates are in the same boat though, and it's really refreshing to see everyone willing to help each other and give loads of support! It's certainly good training for the welfare candidates!
I'm off to get some fresh air and some much needed exercise... hopefully everyone who's still in bed is enjoying their sleep - a lot of very tired people were noticeable on the concourse yesterday!
