Whatever the result, I just want to say thank you to everyone that voted and to everyone that ran.  This has been the best elections in a number of years, simply because there were so many of us running. Good luck to everyone, win or lose its been great (though very tiring) And thank you to everyone who voted

I have the most experience, I work with the sabbatical team already and I am not campaigning on things that already exist, such as top up fees.

I know the role of president, I know what they have to do and I know I have the leadership qualities to lead the sabbatical team next year.

Experience counts!!!!!!Instead of learning the role, I can make changes straight away.

I have already started to implement my policies so please vote for the person who knows what they are doing and for the person who can actually make a difference.

Thank you to all those who have voted and to the others.....get voting. Its your Student Union and your vote will make the differance between an okay sabbatical team and an amazing one.

What does the furture hold?
Sun 1st March 2009 @ 5:40:pm (less)

Voting takes place tomorrow and what a week it has been. Having met a lot of people and gone to a lot of lectures, I for one cannot wait for Wednesday. Each candidate has worked hard trying to gain support, but I believe that I am still the best person for the job. SUSU needs a president who knows what they are doing and it needs someone who has the experience behind them.

All this time I have been saying that SUSU's future lies in your hands, and it still does. The policies that I have put in my manifesto are realistic and I am not trying to campaign on things that already exist, such as a stance on top up fees.

I have taken these elections very seriously as SUSU is very close to my heart. I have wanted the position of president since I first came to university and since then I have tried to get involved in everything that I can.

As your chair of union council I am the only person running who works with the whole sabbatical team and knows the roles of each position and committee within SUSU. I already have the contacts and relationships set up and unlike the other candidates I have already begun to implent all of my polcicies.

Please read the manifesto and vote on the person who will do the best job. Don't vote for friends, lovers, the bit on the side because you know them. If you want a better Student Union then please vote for the person who will do the best job, especially in the crisis that we are in at the minute. It needs someone who has a cool head and knows what they are doing. I am that person!

Experience is vital and I am the only person who truly has this.

Please vote tomorrow as the future of SUSU really does lie in your hands. Every vote will count.

Thank you to everyone I have spoken to and thank you to all the people that are behind.

Although there wasn't a massive turn out from Winchester Students, I still think that today was a really good day. I managed to show everyone that experience does count and I just hope that candidates for other positions understand that I am the best person for the job and can spread the word.

It showed today that I know a lot more than my competitors and that I want to improve SUSU for you the students. I said today that I would give up my social life for the next year just so that SUSU can improve. I don't care how much time it takes and I don't mind how many hours it takes to do it! Working with the sabbatical team this year has allowed me to get an inside knowledge of how the union operates and how it is run. I know that it takes a lot of hard work and dedication, but as I said earlier, I am a workaholic, I love to work and help others.

If you want someone who can actually do their  job and knows what they are doing than please vote for me next week. I want to help the student union through this difficult time! I already have a job lined up for next year, but I am willing not to accept it simply because this is something close to my heart. I want to help, I want to be there and more importantly I want to make a difference.

I haven't gone around doing stupid campaign gimmicks, simply because I don't believe that it is right. I just hope that you consider how important SUSU is to me and how much I have worked on getting enough experince and contacts just so I can do a good job. I will take this job seriously and I will make a difference.

If you want a better Student Union than please please please vote for me. Its up to you, but SUSU will struggle without someone who knows what they are doing.

After three days now of being on the concourse how is it that my face feels like it is sunburnt?

Anyway, three days in and I am already shattered. Having fun though, atmosphere is great and I am getting a lot of positive feedback from my manifesto.

Hustings went well, It was great to hear what everyone had to say. I felt mine went well, got most of my points across and I gave good answers to the questions - appreciating the awww response btw.

Campus today seemed dead but seeing all of the prospective students on their guided tours brought it all back to me. I am campaigning not just for the students we have at the minute, but also the ones that will be coming in next year.

We had an interview today with susu.tv which i think went extremely well, answered every question well and my experience shone through. Just goes to show that having a greater understanding of SUSU as a whole and understanding the role of president is a greater advantage as it allows for a greater change.

Looking forward to hustings tomorrow at Winchester. I literally love that place, though it may help that I do an archaeology degree and I have to study it. Lets just hope that the Winchester students will turn out in force.

If you have any questions at all then please come over and talk to me, I am here to help.

Remember I want to be your SUSU president to help you. I have worked 2 and half years to gain the expereince I have. A vote for me is a vote that will provide sustainability next year. You need someone who knows what they are doing and you need someone who will actually make a difference.

About me

Why I love Southampton University
Ever since I joined Southampton University I have been heavily involved within SUSU. After just a few weeks of being here I was elected onto the my halls JCR where I began to learn about what the Students union and how it worked. I later became president of the JCR in my second year and this, in turn, lead onto my continued involvement within SUSU. Through the JCR I was able to meet a wide range of people, not just within halls but always within the local area. Being in Archers road, meant that we were closer to town and so myself and my Vice president worked on developing the AR card allowing our students to gain discounts within local business.

The JCR as a whole allowed me to create and organise very successful events and it allowed me to gain an insight into the university.

Over the years I have sat on a number of committees and have developed my understanding of how SUSU works. Currently I am Chair of union council and as such, I know the ins and outs of the constitution and the university policies. I am in charge of the one thing the sabbatical team have to report to and as such, it has allowed me to be involved within all of the major decisions that have been implemented.

I have a wider number of contacts within SUSU and the University, which has been developed over the last number of years. I love being part of the organisational part of the Students Union so I can give something back to the one thing I have constantly enjoyed doing over the last few years.

I love the atmosphere and close bonds that are evident when I go out. I always try to experience as much as possible and give everything I can to a specific job. As such I, along with a few graduates, have created a T shirt company called Wessex Custom Clothing to offer a far more reasonable service, providing a cheaper option so you the students can save money.

I don't know what the future holds, but I just hope that I can be involved within SUSU as much as possible
